He has consulted with numerous clients and has provided value resulting in strategy formulation, organizational architecture, and more efficient operations for hospitals, surgery centers, and medical practices.
Christian has given speeches at many conferences across the nation, including the World Simulation Conference, the Simulations Solutions Conference, The Medical Group Management Association National Conference, and The Oncology Practice of Tomorrow, just to name a few. He has also authored articles for the MGMA Connexion Magazine and the Hematology and Oncology News and Issues (HONI) Journal.
Christian holds a degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and an Executive MBA from the Ohio State University. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and a fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
With a broad background in healthcare, Leslie has provided clients nationwide with operational improvement, interim management and management development. As faculty, she has worked with students at both the graduate and undergraduate level and researched several subjects, including intercessory prayer as a therapeutic modality and decreased management stress through increased individual hardiness.
Leslie specializes in nursing administration, surgical services administration, emergency departments, operational and management consulting, mentoring and coaching, and management development.
Additionally, Dr. Furlow is a Family Nurse Practitioner as well as a published author and sought after public speaker. She is certified in Total Quality Management as a Professional Behavioral Analyst and a Facilitator.
Denise Hayes has over 20 years of progressive operations management experience in large healthcare settings, including hospitals, physician practices, skilled nursing, assisted living and home health, including rehabilitation. In her professional career she currently serves as the Vice President of Operations for Redwood Regional Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician practice with over 40 physicians specializing in Oncology, Radiology, and Surgery.
Denise has extensive experience in systems re-engineering within operations. She has served as Manager of Primary Care Redesign at Kaiser Permanente in the Mid-Atlantic States where she led the redesign and implementation of primary care health care teams, appointment booking processes, and message management. In addition, she has also served as Director of Quality Management and Training for Volunteer of America National Services based in Alexandria, Virginia and held multiple roles during her nine year career with Sutter Health Corporation beginning as a Staff Occupational Therapist and quickly advancing to a Senior Therapist at the Sutter Roseville Medical Center. Her successes in that role lead to an offer to become the Inpatient Program Coordinator and later the Program Manager of the same unit. Ms. Hayes was promoted to Director of Operations of Sutter Ambulatory Care in 1997 where she managed six sites with an 18 member regional rehabilitation consortium responsible for 165,000 capitated lives for three years.
Denise is a native of Texas. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy with a Minor in Health, Management and Policy. She received her MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
